January 2, 2018: I was able to procure two tickets from Princess Theatre management which I offered as a prize in a SIDEBURNS Magazine contest. It was only recently that fan and friend, Ingrid Gockert, reminded me that it was the first time we met, as she won the tickets and brought her daughter to see the movie. January 2, 2018: While researching ETA Matt Cage’s performances, I found myself laughing out loud at some of the things he says during a concert. Matt’s speaking voice has dulcet tone that is soothing and pleasant, and when combined with the charming way he expresses his thoughts, his comments are always met with laughter. January 5, 2018: Ted won the hearts of many new fans here in Ontario, on stage and off, with his outstanding vocals and moves that embodied the spirit of Elvis. January 18, 2018: During a performance at the 2010 Elvisfest, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Stephen Kabakos (Steve Michaels) is taken by surprise when a female fan hops on stage to hug him, which ultimately lands the two of them on the floor in a tangled embrace. March 5, 2018: What were you doing this past Saturday at a quarter to two in the morning? Well, if you are ETA James Gibb, you were shaking it up on the stage at Mohawk Casino and Raceway. Or, perhaps, you were one of the many fans who stayed for the entire show, from 10 pm to 2 am, to watch James give an electrifying performance. Paul, aka ChineseElvis, reached a wide audience when he appeared on the UK game show The Weakest Link Elvis Special. Paul was the winning contestant from a panel of nine that included ETAs Gino Monopoli from Canada, Oliver Steinfhoff from Germany, and Gordon Hendricks from Great Britain. May 4, 2018: I was trying to hold my business cards in one hand while balancing my camera in the other to take a photo of the fans attending the Q&A. The cards slipped out of my hand, and as I was about to gather them up, I saw a beautifully manicured masculine hand picking them up. As I straightened up, and locked eyes with my rescuer, I realized it was Dean Z. If a cartoon was drawn to describe the moment, hearts and stars would be fluttering from my eyes. I was star struck! Friends, family, and fans came from as far away as Oshawa, Niagara Falls, and Cambridge to see tribute artists, Brent Freeman as Buddy Holly and Jerry Lee Lewis, Marcus Wells as Sir Elton John, and Hamilton born ETA, Richard Wolfe, put on an excellent show. June 20, 2018: After learning so much about the life and career of ETA Thane Dunn during our two hour phone interview, I was looking forward to seeing Thane’s live performance and meeting him in person. Considered one of the best ETAs in the business, having won two titles at the Collingwood Elvis Festival in 2009, the Moncton, New Brunswick ETA promised not just a show, but an “extravaganza”.
